AFVi is proud to welcome Timothy Heal as the newest natural gas trainer on our team! He brings a wealth of hands-on experience and leadership thanks to his time at UPS, Mack, and Volvo, and we are thrilled to have him join our mission to deliver high-quality technician training on alternative fuels.
His career began as a master technician for Mack and Volvo, where he gained deep technical expertise in diesel and heavy-duty vehicle systems. This solid foundation propelled him into leadership roles where he not only managed maintenance operations, but also mentored teams and implemented strategies that improved fleet efficiency and safety.
Timothy later served in multiple critical roles at UPS for roughly 18 years, including fleet technician, fleet supervisor, district trainer, and fleet manager. During this time, he helped guide the organization’s shift to alternative fuel technologies — including LNG and CNG systems — prioritizing performance, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
Throughout his fleet experience, Timothy has consistently been at the forefront of innovation in transportation technology, particularly in supporting the successful deployment and operation of natural gas vehicles. His combination of mechanical insight, training, and strategic oversight makes him an invaluable asset to both AFVi and the technicians we serve.
