AFVi is proud to announce that it has begun a six-year partnership with the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) to train its CNG technicians on vehicle safety, fuel system inspections, and advanced diagnostics. This contract, which officially began earlier this month, reflects COTA’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards for safety and reliability in its fleet operations.
The program is designed for 20 technicians each year who will complete the following courses through a combination of on-demand e-learning and live in-person training:
COTA has opted for a blend of these training formats to give their technicians flexibility and accessibility in their learning. The first live in-person training class was held from October 15 – 18 at COTA’s newly renovated McKinley Operations Facility.
AFVi was selected as COTA’s CNG training provider based on its ASE accreditation, national recognition, and ability to provide CNG fuel system inspector certification — a key component of COTA’s safety and maintenance strategy.
“We’re honored that COTA chose us for this multiyear partnership,” said Annalloyd Thomason, AFVi’s CEO. “We want to give their technicians the best training available to help them ensure fleet safety and reduce maintenance repair costs for many, many years.”
Those interested in learning more about COTA can do so through their website. Their annual report is also available here.
