In this course, participants will learn about the unique components, operational theory, maintenance practices, and fuel system diagnostics for light- and medium-duty propane-powered vehicles. This course also includes troubleshooting procedures for GM and Ford propane fuel systems.

Level 1: Propane Vehicle Essentials and Safety Practices

- Fleet or dealer service managers and supervisors
Course Objectives
- Describe inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair practices for components of a propane fuel system
- Identify and describe the components, function and operation of the GM and Ford propane engines, including fuel, air, ignition, and emissions control
- Recognize engine component maintenance intervals and procedures unique to propane engines
- Apply diagnostic procedures to address hard starting and/or poor drivability issues
