Republic Services Reaps the Benefits of AFVi’s CNG Training
Republic Services received training for their CNG technicians from Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi). The following outlines what prompted the training, and how it benefited their team.
U.S. DOT requirements for fuel system inspections mean that all CNG refuse truck fleets need an efficient and consistent way to train their technicians. Properly performed CNG fuel system inspections are the heart of CNG fleet safety, as well as the first line of defense in risk management.
Republic Services was impressed with the fact that our training is updated regularly, that it’s scalable, and that it’s conveniently available in digital delivery modes. It also prepares technicians for independent certification, should they choose to pursue it.

Our instruction provided essential knowledge and skills for them to safely work on or around CNG vehicles, and to identify and address any fuel system damage before it became a serious problem.
